Granny Han’s Breakfast is one of my all-time favorite stories. I was happy to have a chance this week to read it to my five-year-old. He loved it, too! Told in seven short chapters, it would be easy to read in one sitting, although I stretched it out over three days.

Granny Han has a problem. She needs $1,000 in a few days for some upcoming meetings. God has supplied the money, but it came half an hour after the banks closed for the weekend. While she was away at a student meeting, someone stole the money from her house! Now, not only does Granny have no money for the conference, she also has no money to live on. Oolan, the house helper, grumbles and complains when she is told to set the table for breakfast—and there is no food in the house! Granny asks God to provide for her needs, so that Oolan will know that God provides. Within the next ten minutes, four different people knock on Granny’s door, bringing all she needs for a scrumptious breakfast, and for several more breakfasts, too! The best part of the story, however, is the last chapter.

Don’t miss this lovely story! It is a great illustration of how God cares for His own. Even very young children can understand it.
