The Adventures of Lily Lapp series by Mary Ann Kinsinger and Suzanne Woods Fisher

Title: The Adventures of Lily Lapp series
Author: Mary Ann Kinsinger and Suzanne Woods Fisher
Major Themes: Amish, Family Life, Farm Life, Pennsylvania
Synopsis: Over the span of four books, Lily Lapp grows up from a 5-year-old to an adventuresome 11-year-old, learning many lessons for life along the way.

We loved the Grandma’s Attic books, and the Little House books. We also loved The Adventures of Lily Lapp! This series is a wonderful set of stories about a family who loved each other and enjoyed being together as their parents did their best to teach their children to live as Jesus would want them to.

As you read through these books, you will also learn about Amish life, because Lily is a little Amish girl. One thing that makes these stories stand out from other books about the Amish, however, is the fact that the author grew up Amish herself, and based the stories on her own girlhood.

If you need a new series for your children to read to themselves, or to read to them, check out these books! You will enjoy them. For more information, please see the individual reviews for each book.
