Title: Tell Me the Stories of Jesus
Author: Caleb Crider
Major Themes: Bible Stories, Jesus
Synopsis: The life of Jesus is portrayed in 70 stories for young children, and illustrated with beautiful paintings.
I’m always looking for a good Bible Story book for my children. Our all-time favorite, The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes, has gone out of print and the new edition, which replaced it, has cartoon-style pictures that we don’t really like. When I saw Tell Me the Stories of Jesus in the catalog for the publisher from whom we get some of our homeschool curriculum, I knew I wanted to check it out. When it arrived, I gave it to my 5-year-old; we have given a Bible story book to most of the children, and it was his turn now. He loved it, and we read through it, two stories a day.
The stories are very simple, about one page each. They tell the story of Jesus’ life on earth, from birth to the Ascension into heaven. With 70 stories, His life is well described! With each story, there are three simple questions to help your young child think about the story.

My favorite part of this book, though, is the pictures. They are beautiful full-color paintings. I love a detailed painting, and these are, and very realistic. I also like the way Jesus is portrayed with short hair. He looks just like the men around him, which I believe is the way it was, although you always know which man is Jesus, because of the context.

If you are looking for a good Bible story collection, this is a great choice. I’m hoping the author/illustrator team will do another book of Old Testament stories. If they do, I will definitely be buying it.
