Author: Ed Young
Major Themes: Color, Numbers, Time
Synopsis: As seven mice investigate an elephant, preschoolers learn about color, numbers, and days of the week.
Seven Blind Mice is a new twist on the old story of the blind men who investigated an elephant and each came away with a different impression of what it was. The seven blind mice are each a different color, and each goes on a different day of the week to investigate the mysterious huge object down by their pond. The first mouse says, “It’s a pillar,” the second believes it’s a snake, and so on. How will they figure out what the Something really is?
Seven Blind Mice is a delightful introduction to colors, as well as ordinal numbers (first, second, third, etc), days of the week, and perspectives. Any preschooler would love it.
