I first read The Hiding Place many years ago, and have been intrigued by the life of Corrie ten Boom ever since. Corrie ten Boom: World War II Heroine gives us a fuller picture of the life of this great woman of God, showing us her early years as well as the later years of her life.

Corrie grew up in a home that loved God and did all they could to help others. Corrie turns out to have been a mischievous young girl, pulling pranks but always repenting when she did something wrong. As she matured, she did more and more work for the Lord, working with young women and retarded children. By the time war broke out, when Germany invaded Holland, she was working full-time with her father in their watch shop. Soon, the family was deeply involved with rescuing Jewish people from the Nazis—until someone betrayed them and they were all arrested. After spending many months in the horrors of the concentration camps, Corrie was finally released and soon began sharing messages around Europe, and then the world, about God’s love and forgiveness.
